Scottsdale Tapas Restaurants
Many believe Iruna is the third best tapas restaurant in Scottsdale. This modern tapas restaurant and lounge is located in Old Town and is run by Aaron May. The mastermind in the kitchen, Chef Brian Barry, crafts incredible dishes by using only high quality ingredients combined with the perfect amount of flavor and spice. The menu at Iruna features both hot and cold tapas and has light vegetable dishes, seafood choices, soups and heavy meat creations. Memorable tapas include the ensalada de arroz con atún with poached tuna, black and white rice and peas topped with a lemon vinaigrette and the lomo con Romesco, which is a perfectly cooked pork loin on a bed of garlic Romesco sauce and pickled red onions.
The AZ Republic has selected Pepin Restaurant seven times as the Best Spanish Restaurant in Scottsdale. This award-winning restaurant opened its doors in 1992 and serves remarkable Spanish influenced fare Tuesdays through Sundays. On Friday and Saturday nights, there is a flamenco show and salsa dancing. Tapas are a traditional Spanish culinary experience and according to Pepin, there is no better way to spend time with friends and family than over shared food and sangria. The menu features numerous hot and cold tapas and fresh paella. A few standouts include the croquetas de arroz negro, which is crab and black rice with lobster sauce and the cordero asado, which is roasted lamb with sun-dried tomatoes that is served cold.
